What does your house look like right now? Would you be happy for uninvited guests to just pop around right now with your house the way it is, or would the sound of knocking send you running to the bedroom and hiding under the covers?
How many times do you hear "dont worry about the housework, it can wait" But still feel like a failure when the washing piles high and the floor hasn't been cleaned for a week....or a month....
As I sit here writing this I am looking at my kitchen from the lounge room, dishes piled up, dirty washing in the laundry, and a massive pile of unfolded clean clothes on the couch, I think... I would definately run and hide!! I feel like I should have the energy to bounce around after the kids go to bed and clean and do dishes etc etc. I feel like I am a failure.... Then I remembered this wonderful quote " Good Mums have sticky floors, messy kitchens, laundry piles dirty ovens and HAPPY KIDS!! ....Thank goodness!!!
I think about my two little boys. How happy, sociable, bright little pumpkins they are. Tonight I spent a good hour and a half with my son Cooper playing with his new cash register set he got for his birthday - amongst the clothes and toys strewn on the floor. We took it in turns being the shop keeper, scanning items, giving (way too much) change and taking our shopping home. He just loved it! I know how important these moments are. Its no good thinking..."Ill just get the house clean, then I'll spend some quality time with them" It just doesnt work that way. You will be cleaning around them forever, and before long they wont be interested in playing with you. To me, being a good mum means being involved with you children, as well as taking care of them. I know I am not a failure, even with my messy kitchem, sticky floors and dirty oven. As long as my kids are happy, I am a good mum.
28 year old stay at home Mum of 2 gorgeous boys. The most important thing to me is my family, they will always come first. I have always been passionate about art. From painting to sculpture and now to jewellery making. The best part is seeing the happy faces of my customers when they receive their custom made item. It is very rewarding for me.
