Prints can be taken from as young as 1 month old however the definition of the prints at this age will vary from child to child. I do recommend waiting until your child is approx 12 months old to ensure you get good definition in the print. Unknown to many, The fingerprint of a new born baby is almost non-existent. Even at 12 months some children still do not have enough detail to capture the print successfully. It really does depend on the individual child. The longer you wait, the more detail you will see in your jewellery. If you really want to have a piece of jewellery with your child's print as a newborn, I suggest having a hand print or footprint pendant made. What is fingerprint jewellery?
