Hand Casting Terms & Conditions

At Pure Charm Jewellery, we are deeply honoured to create hand castings that preserve the treasured memory of your loved one. Each casting is individually handcrafted using high-strength plaster stone, with the utmost care, respect, and attention to detail.

To ensure clear expectations during this sensitive time, please review the following information regarding the process and outcomes:

  • Positioning & Arrangement: While we will always do our very best to achieve your preferred hand positioning and presentation, we cannot guarantee that the final cast will exactly match a requested pose. The natural physical condition of the hands and the requirements of the moulding process itself may limit what is physically achievable.

  • Post-Mortem & Natural Variations: The final casting will accurately reflect the natural condition of your loved one’s hands at the time the moulds are taken. Natural factors beyond our control—such as dehydration, swelling, skin texture changes, illness, age, or post-mortem changes—will affect the final result. As a result, fingertips and other areas may appear sunken, flattened, or altered.

  • Long Nails: Please note that if your loved one has long natural or artificial nails, they do not always translate perfectly into a plaster stone cast. While your loved one's actual nails will never be damaged or broken during this process, the plaster replicas on the final casting can become brittle or trap air pockets. Because of this, the plaster nails may need to be filed down or altered during our finishing process to achieve a clean look.

  • Handcrafted Artistry: Hand castings are unique, handcrafted artworks. Minor imperfections, variations, and distinct characteristics are a normal and natural part of the artisan casting process.

  • Mould Durability & Duplicates: We create the initial moulds with the intention of reusing them for duplicate castings if requested. However, because the moulds are highly delicate and risk being damaged during the demoulding process, we cannot guarantee that multiple castings can always be successfully created.

  • Payment Terms: A 50% deposit is required prior to our visit to your loved one. The remaining balance is to be paid upon collection of the final completed casting.

  • Cancellation & Refund Policy: Once we have visited your loved one and the moulding process has commenced, the service cannot be cancelled, and no refunds or change-of-mind returns can be provided. This is because the specialised materials and custom labor required to capture the moulds have already been dedicated to your keepsake and cannot be reused.

By proceeding with your hand casting order, you acknowledge and accept these conditions, and understand that the final artwork will be created based on the best possible outcome achievable from the moulds obtained.
